In this new series through the book of Genesis entitled "Back to Beginnings", we go back to the very first book of the Bible, written by Moses, to understand where, how, and why everything started. God was in the beginning. God was the beginning of all things material. God is the a priori, the one to whom nothing is prior because He is eternal. Anyone who would come to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. The foundation of Christianity is found in the basic teachings of Genesis: belief in One all-powerful creator God who gives form and life to all things. He is the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega. The fact that God created the heavens and the earth is one of the most basic of all Christian beliefs, without which the rest of the Bible doesn’t really make sense. If you throw out Genesis, you throw out the gospel.
Of course, secularists know this. Atheistic Darwinists know this, which is why they attempt to turn science into a religion which will supposedly discredit the Christian story and view of the world. It hasn't worked so far. Evolutionists frequently change their theories about the origins of the universe, but Christians have never stopped believing in a creator God. It's time to get back to basics. Every single scientific fact out there actually confirms more and more the truth of the Word of God. "The fool says in his heart, 'there is no God." But if you happened to catch the beautiful sunrise this morning, recalled the fact that the pupil of your eye dilates to different sizes to let in more or less light as you move from room to room, or read the Bible this morning, you know that all this is not here by chance.
Life Application Questions:
- Do you believe in God?
- If God is eternal and existed before this world ever did, what are the chances that He is responsible for the creation of this world?
Praise the Creator-God for all His works of beauty today!
