Christmas From the Father’s Perspective: Planned From Before the World Began

We focus this advent on the Father! What great delight was His to send His Son to us as the greatest Christmas blessing?! What joy did The heavenly Father have in the birth of His Son?! We don’t know everything that the Trinity was up to before God created the world, but we do know a few things—we do know that God the Father and God the Son in loving relationship planned the incarnation of the son and the method of salvation for humanity. You must understand that God’s Christmas love for you is preceded with His love for His Son!

So now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world existed. Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world
— John 17:5, 24

Christmas happened first because of the glory and love shared between the Father and the Son, and then the product of this love is your salvation and you are invited into the family relationship as adopted children! Fathers, do you remember when your first Son was born? Parents, do you remember when your first child was born? The joy of a parent over a new born child is hard to describe isn’t it? Are you happy at Christmas time with true joy in Christ? Guess what?— the Father is even more delighted to rejoice in His Son!

In Prayer Today:

As you worship this Christmas, praise and thank God the Father for sending his one and only Son to come into this world, taking on flesh, and being born as a baby for your salvation, and to the glory and delight of the Father!
