All Hail The King

Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron, and said, “Behold, we are your bone and flesh. In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you that led out and brought in Israel; and the Lord said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over Israel.’” So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron; and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord, and they anointed David king over Israel. David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. At Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and at Jerusalem he reigned over all Israel and Judah thirty-three years.
— 2 Samuel 5:1-5

Here David ascends the throne (finally!) and has victory over all his enemies and finds rest and peace after a life full on conflict so far. Jesus, as our new David has likewise won the spiritual battle for us that brings us peace. But there is still work to be done. Trusting, Fighting with Prayer, Love and Truth, and Waiting upon the Lord is our daily portion now! There are two types of people in this life, those who are focused on the heavenly Kingdom (and working daily toward that) and those that are fixated on this life. Let us labor daily for the heavenly kingdom.

After WW2 there was a clear sense that good had triumphed over evil, but there were a lot of complicated operations still to be carried out, and a lot of healing, and complicated relationships to be sorted out...our victory was won when Christ died and rose again, but the final victory is yet to come. And we have His work to continue on earth till He returns again. Let us Trust, Keep Fighting with Prayer, Love, and Truth, and wait patiently for the final salvation that is to come...when you die or when He returns, whatever comes first, you will see Him face to face, and in an instant you will be transformed to be like Him...The enemies that Christ has given us victory over are the World (of evil), The Flesh (indwelling sin), and the Devil, but we have to work out that victory daily, right? We must stand against unrighteousness and injustice, woo the enemy to Christ, and win the battle on the inside, which is perhaps the greatest battle...and this is only won by filling your life daily with Christ the Victor...then there is no room left for sin and selfishness.

In Prayer Today:

Praise King Jesus on His throne!
