Have you spent any sleepless nights worrying, anxious, and afraid of some devastating situation which may befall you? Have you stayed awake far too late, wondering if everything falls apart, what you would do? This situation is familiar to every human being on the planet. Some more, some less. But the Psalmist says defiantly, "Why should I fear?" As it were, "Give me one good reason to be afraid of evil days, evil situations and evil men, when God is with me?" He says confidently later in the Psalm: "But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself." If God's presence is your portion in this life, you have literally nothing to lose. If God's presence is your portion in the world to come you have nothing to lose and heaven to gain. Defy the devil and his whispering lies today with this phrase "Why should I fear?"
In Prayer Today:
Ask God to to place your eyes are on the things which are from above.
