David's Victory, Jesus' Victory, Your Victory Part 2

1 These are the last words of David “The inspired utterance of David son of Jesse, the utterance of the man exalted by the Most High the man anointed by the God of Jacob, the hero of Israel’s songs: 2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; his word was on my tongue. 3 The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me, ‘When one rules over people in righteousness, when he rules in the fear of God, 4 he is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth.’ 5 “If my house were not right with God, surely he would not have made with me an everlasting covenant, arranged and secured in every part, surely he would not bring to fruition my salvation and grant me my every desire. 6 But evil men are all to be cast aside like thorns, which are not gathered with the hand 7 Whoever touches thorns uses a tool of iron or the shaft of a spear; they are burned up where they lie.” 8 These are the names of David’s mighty warriors: Josheb-Basshebeth, a Tahkemonite, was chief of the Three; he raised his spear against eight hundred men, whom he killed in one encounter.
— 2 Samuel 23: 1-8

Chapter 23 speaks of David’s Testimony (last words) and Fellow Warriors. In the christian life you also have your testimony and fellow warriors. These two things will last forever... but the whole point is to give glory and praise to God.

If you are not fighting against sin you are dead, but if you are fighting you are alive! If you are not being attacked by the devil and his gang, you are not doing ministry! But when you know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you are redeemed by the blood of Jesus and are a child of the most high God then you will have a godly swagger, a confidence that enables you to do risky things for the kingdom of God. I want each of you to win the battle inside through prayer and the word so that you can win the battle ouide in Jesus name. We can - through Christ - have victory over the world of evil and give God the glory!

Let me ask you a couple questions today:

  1. Are you fighting against the world, the devil, and the flesh and finding victory in the Son of God?
  2. Are you fighting for the kingdom of God to advance?

In Prayer Today:
Praise God for the testimony and friends in the Gospel we have been given
